Lambert-Sigsbert Adam was born to a family of sculptors from Lorraine . He spent ten years in Italy where he underwent the influence of Bernini, whose influence is shown in 'Neptune Calming the Waves ') There is also a reminder of Michelangelo's 'Moses ' in this marvelous head .
